Family is doing great! We have so much fun together we go on trips as a family. It has been a great couple years our family grew a little. My grandchildren are 10,12,14,4,4,and 2 years old.

Cooper Craig Keener

Cooper Craig Keener was blessed by his grandfather Glen Ramsey on Sunday March 29th 2009 at McQueen Ward in Gilbert. He wore the cutest little white tuxedo with a white vest with paisley print and a white tie. He was just so cute.

Afterwards we had family and friends over to the house for brunch that consisted of Sausage gravy with biscuits, scrambled eggs, fresh strawberries, grapes and pineapple with fruit dip, homemade cinnamon rolls and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. The food was delicous and everyone enjoyed themselves. Congratulations Cooper!

Cooper Keener

This is little Cooper and he was born January 25th 2009. He is our very 1st grandson and we are so proud of him. He is such a little sweetie if you can call a little boy that? Whatever! He's sweet as can be and we love him. He is 5 weeks old now and sometimes he takes a time out from his mom's boob to actually let us have a peek at him. He seems to have a real attachment to his mom and lets us know when he's hungry which is all the time. Way to go Cooper!

Avalyn Gabriella Gauna

Avalynn Gabriella Gauna was born on Dec 1, 2009. She is our 6th granddaughter, the dughter of Aimie & Mark. She is such a joy to have in our family as you can see she is taking a buble bath. She is 3 months old now and laughs and coos at us. We love her so much and can hardly wait for her to start sitting up and talking and walking. What fun we will have!

Madelynn gets Baptized

On July 12, 2008 Madelynn was baptized by her grandfather Glen. She was so happy and excited to turn 8 years old so she could celebrate this day! She invited her family and friends to join her afterwards for party in her honor.

RICHARD COLEMAN ALLEN

RICHARD COLEMAN ALLEN
Born 4 Aug 1859 Missouri.
Died 22 Nov 1922 Yeager, Hughes Co. Oklahoma.

Richard had two brothers that fought in the Civil War. One fought for the Union side and one fought for the Confederates side. Little Grannie had possession of the gun that one of them used in the War. I think Owen has the gun now along with Jessie's Bible.

Richards father came from England with his brother. There are stories told of the two brothers going down the Mississippi River on a Raft. His last two children were born in Oklahoma, the rest were born in Arkansas Hazel thinks in the vicinity of Mena.

He belonged to a Club called the Anti-Horse Theif Assoiation.

Richard worked for the Railroad, he helped build railroads in Carson & Lamar Oklahoma.

Personal Belongings in a Box of Records that Owen Thompson has is A Tax certificate from 1895 State of Missouri county of Howell. This was a Personal Property Tax of 16 cents.

Richard Colman Allen had a brother that was a City Marshall in Springfield, Greene Co. Missouri or Great Plains Mo. This information was from Westlie Thompson 1443 N 4th St. Coolidge Ariz. & Owen Thompson of Oklahoma

I found his marriage certificate on the Internet at Randolph County, Arkansas on June 21, 2001. I have the Original Certificate. Richard was 29 years old and Sarah was 16. Residence: 3 miles west of Sasakwa, P. O. on Konowa Rd. I was searching the Internet when I came across a site by accident in Randolph County Arkansas, that had unclaimed marriage certificates. I had no ancestors that I knew of in that area but decided to browse through the names anyway and there it was my great great grandparents marriage certificate. I quickly pulled up my genealogy program to make sure that it was the correct family and sure enough it was. I only had the information on my great great father's birth and who he married with no date for the marriage. I quickly addressed the envelope with the request for the Marriage Certificate. It cost me a whole $ 2.00 and a stamp. I waited anxiously for a week for it to come to see what information I would be able to acquire form it. Not only did have in my possession the original marriage certificate but I was able to add their marriage date and my grandmothers age and where there where living at the time. You can't imagine how happy this made me.

Owen has box of receipts for tole taxes and records kept by Richard. I think Owen said something about John Allen mentioned in records. Possibly brother or father to Richard.

He married Sarah Elizabeth Watson 9 Dec 1888 Ranoke, Randolph County, Arkansas.

Richard died at the age of 64.

One of Grandpa Henderson's brothers granddaughters from Texas sent the Photo to me. Gr. Grandpa Henderson fought for the Union and Gr. Grandpa Toney fought for the Confederacy. There was supposedly a lot of conflict when Grandpa and Grandma Henderson got married.

Beulah Henderson Blanchard

My name is Phyllis Henderson Allinder formerly of Alma, Arkansas. My father was Oscar Henderson of Alma, Arkansas. He was a brother to your grandmother.

Their father was George Allison Henderson who was born in Missouri in 1865 and died in Crawford County, Arkansas in 1948.
He lived in Texas for most of his childhood before moving back to Arkansas where he met and married Annie Lee Toney. They had 12 children. My father was the last surviving child. There are still some of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren living in Crawford County.

Your grandmother is the 3rd child in the front row from the right. My dad is the middle person in the front row. On either side of him is Aunt Eula on his right and Aunt Nettie on his left by your grandma.

JOHN MORGAN CATES

John Morgan Cates born 16 January 1771
Caswell Co. North Carolina. He died 11 October 18525 in Jasper, Caroll County, Georgia. He was a Farmer and Blacksmith.
He was 1/4 Manahoac Indian.
John Morgan and Mary Hannah Cates moved to Jasper, Georgia before 1810.
The rest of the family moved on to Tennessee and John Morgan and Hannah Cates stayed in Cowpens, South Carolina where her Smith family lived. John was in the war of 1812-Georgia Militia, Wooten's Reg. His son, Charles Jefferson Cates b.1791 was also in that war 1812.

The Lot # 209 in Henry County Was won by John Morgan Cates, Husband of Hannah Smith Cates. This land became a part of Newton County when Newton was formed from Henry & other surrounding Counties. This same 209 Acres was deeded from John Morgan to Jerimiah Cates & even Later Joseph Cates got a Part of this 209 Acres from the estate of Joel Flanagan to whom Jerimiah hadsold the 209 acres. John Morgan obtained this 209 acres in the 1821 Land Lottery while residing in Walton County. Lot 209 was not a part of the 1827 land lottery.

Memoirs of Joseph Cates
John M. Cates was a farmer and blacksmith. He was a tall man standing over six foot, with the finest beard I ever saw. Papa was a fair man. He was well thought of by his friends. He stood for us when Mama was too strict. My Mama's name is Hannah. They married Nov. 1790 in Union County, South Carolina. Mama and Papa had eight children, four boys and four girls.

There are documents of John Morgan Cates where he sold a grist mill to a man and the stone broke after the man had it. The buyer sued John Morgan Cates for $ 700.00 and won the suit. Charles and father John Morgan Cates were sued for a debt they owed at a store where they had charged stuff. The owner of the store owed both of them some money and they counter sued him. Charles and father John Morgan Cates lost their case. John found a document where John Morgan Cates won a land lottery in 1821 for over 200 acres. Hannah won a lottery for land in 1829 .

John Morgan Cates was sued in 1820 along with a partner. They sold some stones for grist mills that broke after two years of use. It appears that John and partner made these stones for gristmills. The stones had a warranty, it doesn't say for how long. They charged $ 200.00 for the stones.

John Morgan Cates was my 4th great grandfater on my mother's side.
Charles was my 3rd great grandfather.

Aimie's Graduation from Dental Hygiene School

Aimie graduated from Rio Salado Dental Hygiene School last month and just started working! She's very excited about her new job and looks forward to making new friends at work. She's worked very hard to get here and were all so very proud of her.

Bailey Get's Baptized

Bailey turned 8 in January and she was baptized on Feb 10, 2007. It was a big day for her, Papa baptized her and afterwards we had a family gathering at home. Her old primary teacher sang a song & Jennifer's friend Joy gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. It was a glorious day and we are all proud of Bailey.

Jennifer's divorce was finale in Sept and she has a new look! She's lost about 60 lbs since January. Even with the Holiday's she has kept it off and still lost a few more pounds. She looks fabulous. She walks the kids to shool everyday and then keep on walking. Total of about 10 miles a day. She walkes again before she goes to bed. She does sit-ups as well. She's has the words "I am Strong" on the cover of her cell phone. She reads her scriptures every night before she goes to bed and she reads them to the girls. The girls love going to church and they make sure we have prayer before dinner.

Like I said before we went to Disneyland the 27th of December. Aimie and Mark were there and as you can see they had a great time.

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Everyone had a Merry Christmas and we all had a great time at Disneyland. We went to visit Mary 1st then on to see Mickey. There were 18 of us who went to Disneylnad that day. The little one had a Blast. We also had a wonderful visit with granddaughter Mckenzie who all so went with us.

My Rotator Cuff Surgery

Oct 16, 2006 I had my surgery. It was out patient and everything went very well. I was surprised at how good I felt afterwards. But then comes the reality. The pain is in physical therapy... They stretch you and move you until it hurts. No Pain No Gain. That must be where it came from. I still cant sleep very well at night, I keep trying to sleep without the pain killer and Sleeping pill. About 4 am I finally get out of bed and give up take my medicine and go right to sleep. I don't like taking drugs of any kind but I really got worried the other day when I kept trying to get ahold of my Dr for a refill on my sleeping pills. He finally called back about 5:00 pm. I was so thankfull. My Pain medication I only take 1/2 one before I go to sleep, that is when it hurts the most. As for Therapy I can move most everything in the Forward motion, now it's time to work on the backwords motion. Trying to reach behind me is very painfull. But then again that' s where this all started. Trying to tie my apron, or anything like that. And at night I wasnt able to sleep because of the shoulder pain. I have lots of new exercise toys to work out with at home. I still havnt gone back to work yet, we'll see what the Dr has to say on my next visit the 17th of Nov.

Kaycie gets her Teeth Cleaned

Last week I took Kaycie over to Aimie's school for her 1st teeth cleaning. Kaycie wasn't sure about having the instruments in her mouth at first but Aimie let her see the instruments and feel them so she wouldnt be afraid and then she allowed her to clean her teeth. Kaycie was a typical 3 year old squirming around her chair asking questions. Aimie finally finished after 2 hours and Kaycie was very happy with her Very clean teeth. She could hardly wait to get home and tell Papa and mother about her visit. I was with her the whole time and took lots of photos and video so she could rember what a great time it was to be in Aimie's chair.
